Repairing Rokoko suit
Earlier this week I encountered a problem with our Rokoko suit - the sensors were constantly in bootloader mode and the suit would not calibrate. After going through the power circle (https://support.rokoko.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410479064849-Some-or-all-of-the-sensors-on-the-Smartsuit-Pro-do-not-work ) multiple times in different days and failing, I realized that something was wrong with the hardware. Now I know that even when all the sensors flash the same colour, it does not mean that they are working properly. The head sensor was not detected and this issue was messing up the whole suit. Log files in Rokoko studio confirmed this problem, so I had to use a Rokoko’s repair kit in order to replace the damaged wire (please note that although it says that head sensor is not detected, it is more likely that the problem is with head wire). Here is an official documentation on how to use a repair kit https://support.rokoko.com/hc/en-us/articles/4410479079441-Using-the-Rokoko-Repair-Kit . One thing they do not mention is that in order to open main hub, you need a very tiny screwdriver (specifically Torx 6/T6 bit) and it does not come in the repair kit. After I bought the right set and brought it to ESC 567, it was pretty easy to follow the instructions on replacing the cable. Now the suit works very well and there are no problems with connecting it to the Rokoko studio.
